FBIA Finalizes ASTA Co-Signed Comments on “Appendix 1” Guidance

ASTA joined other trade associations and businesses in signing on to the Food and Beverage Issue Alliance (FBIA)’s letter commenting on the FDA’s Draft Guidance for Industry on Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Human Food; Appendix 1 (“the revised Appendix 1”).
As previously shared in FYI ASTA, ASTA joined other trade associations and businesses in signing on to the Food and Beverage Issue Alliance (FBIA)’s letter commenting on the FDA’s Draft Guidance for Industry on Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Human Food; Appendix 1 (“the revised Appendix 1”). The letter, which was finalized on Friday, outlines five key areas for improvement: Supplemental Appendix 1 Training for FDA Investigators; Digital, Online Interface for Hazard Characterizations; Rationale Statements for Each Recommendation; Standardized Subcategory Name and Comments Across Tables; and Specified Chemical Hazards.
