ASTA signed onto the FBIA coalition's comments to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in August 2024 on FDA's revisions to “Appendix 1: Potential Hazards for Foods and Processes” of the “Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Human Food; Draft Guidance for Industry".

ASTA Comments on FSMA Focused Mitigation Strategies for Food Defense and Intentional Adulteration
ASTA issued comments to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in June 2014 regarding the FDA's proposed rule on Focused Mitigation Strategies to Protect Food Against Intentional Adulteration. Comments addressed the joint role to protect public health and the food supply, vulnerability assessments, key activity types, mitigation strategies, confidentiality of FDPs, proposed exemptions based on business size, economically motivated adulteration, and recommended a reproposal.
