ASTA Convenes D.C. Stakeholders to Recognize Global Efforts to End Foodborne Lead Poisoning

Last Monday, ASTA jointly hosted a reception and briefing on Capitol Hill where ASTA, the U.S. Food and Drug Association (FDA), and Pure Earth offered remarks on collaborative public-private initiatives to combat lead poisoning and promote a safe supply chain worldwide to a broad audience of legislative staffers and representatives of the public health NGO community. At the reception, ASTA formally shared that it joined the Partnership for a Lead-Free Future (PLF), a new coalition to tackle lead exposure in low- and middle-income countries, which was publicly launched that day at the General Assembly session in New York.
