ASTA Comments on Definition of Natural for Labeling of Human Food

ASTA signed onto an FBIA coalition letter to the Food and Drug Administration(FDA) in July 2023 providing feedback on the FDA's “Food Labeling in Online Grocery Shopping; Request for Information” to provide general comments about the labeling of foods and the scope of FDA’s request. Comments include requests for flexibility and consistency with exemptions in existing nutrition labeling requirements.

ASTA signed onto a multi-industry letter to congressional leaders pressing them to pursue bipartisan food policy reforms, including a federal framework for food regulations. The letter argues that allowing states to set different laws is creating problems, including raising compliance costs and prices.
