POSITION TITLE: National Sales Manager – East Coast
REPORTS TO: Director of Ingredient Sales
DEPARTMENT: Sales
LOCATION: Remote

POSITION OBJECTIVE
Sales Managers at Starwest are responsible for growing company revenue through new customer acquisition.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop new, sustainable business on the East Coast of the US.
Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Develop account-specific sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and align with overall business objectives.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen new and existing customer relationships, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
- Monitor account performance and ensure alignment with contractual agreements and customer expectations.
Account Management:
- Leader of assigned national accounts.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within customer organizations.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and problem-solving.
Relationship Development:
- Foster trust and collaboration with key customers, understanding their business needs and objectives.
- Act as an advocate for the customer within the organization, ensuring their requirements are addressed effectively.
Negotiation and Contract Management:
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with customers to secure deals that are profitable for the company while meeting customer needs.
- Ensure agreements are mutually beneficial and aligned with the company’s profitability goals.
- Work within pricing architecture and deliver pricing action to customers.
- Work with finance and sales operations to develop product pricing.
Collaboration:
- Work cross functionally with internal stakeholders ensuring customer expectations are met.
- Provide insight to leadership about market trends, customer needs, and potential areas for growth.
Performance Monitoring:
- Track and report account performance metrics, sales data, and market trends.
- Address underperformance and collaborate with customers to identify improvement opportunities.
- Conduct market analysis to identify new business opportunities, emerging trends, and potential customers.
Problem-Solving and Support:
- Proactive and quickly address and resolve customer issues and concerns.
- Liaison between the customer and internal teams to ensure seamless execution of deliverables.
- Stay informed about market developments and competitor activities.
- Maintain a deep knowledge of the company’s product portfolio and the ability to effectively communicate product benefits and solutions to customers.
Leadership:
- CSR Sales team
EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, business, or a related field is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Experience in the food manufacturing industry.
TRAVEL
- The Sales Manager works from a remote home office with travel to customers, industry events, home office locations in Sacramento, CA, and tradeshows.
