Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research and Development (R&D) Manager to lead our R&D team. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in the food industry. This role requires strong leadership skills, a background in product development, project management, and a deep understanding of market trends and consumer preferences. The R&D Manager will report directly to the Director of Technical Service. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead and manage the R&D team, ensuring optimal workload distribution and team performance. 
• Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints. 
• Drive innovation in product development, from concept through to commercialization, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company quality requirements. 
• Oversee market research to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in the spice and seasoning market. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality, sales, and production, to ensure successful product launches.
• Oversee sensory evaluations and shelf-life studies to ensure product quality and stability. 
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes. 
• Provide technical support and training to internal teams and customers as needed. 
• Ensure all R&D activities are conducted in accordance with food safety and quality standards. 
• Develop and implement food safety protocols and practices within the R&D department, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and standards. 
• Prepare and present reports on R&D activities, progress, and results to the Director of Technical Service.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field. 
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in R&D, specifically in the food industry. 
• Proven track record of successful product development and commercialization. 
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively and strategically. 
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team. 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. 
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and food safety standards. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and R&D software applications.

Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Supply Chain & Vendor Quality Manager to join
our team in Reno, NV. This unique role blends expertise in international supply chain management
with a strong focus on vendor quality assurance. The ideal candidate will lead eForts to source,
procure, and manage logistics for high-quality products while ensuring all suppliers meet rigorous
quality and specification standards. This position requires a proactive professional capable of
negotiating contracts, managing freight logistics, and fostering strong supplier relationships, all
while driving a culture of quality compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Management
-Develop and execute strategies for eFicient international supply chain operations, including
sourcing, procurement, and logistics.
-Negotiate and manage contracts with international suppliers and freight forwarders to
optimize costs and ensure timely delivery.
-Oversee freight logistics, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, and regulatory
requirements.
-Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with international suppliers, focusing on
collaboration and trust.
-Vendor Quality Assurance
-Evaluate and monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality standards and
specifications.
-Review Certificates of Analysis (COAs) from suppliers, comparing data to internal
specifications to ensure compliance.
-Conduct routine and ad-hoc audits of suppliers to assess their quality management
systems and capabilities.
-Develop and maintain a vendor quality management program to ensure
consistent supply of high-quality materials.
-Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address and resolve quality issues related
to vendor-supplied materials.
-Process Improvement and Collaboration
-Partner with internal teams, including Quality Assurance, Regulatory, and Operations, to
align supply chain practices with company standards.
-Drive initiatives to streamline supply chain processes while maintaining a focus on quality
assurance.
-Support product development teams by sourcing raw materials that meet stringent quality
requirements.

Qualifications
-Education and Experience
-Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Quality
-Assurance, or a related field.
-5+ years of experience in international supply chain management, including contract
negotiation and freight logistics.
-3+ years of experience in vendor quality management with a solid understanding of
quality assurance processes.
-Technical Skills
-Proficient in reviewing and interpreting Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and comparing them
to product specifications.
-Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO, GMP, HACCP, or equivalent.
-Advanced skills in supply chain management tools and ERP systems.
Soft Skills
-Exceptional negotiation and relationship management skills to foster strong supplier
partnerships.
-High attention to detail and the ability to analyze and interpret technical data.
-Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
-Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams.
