Multi-Industry Letter to Senators Klobuchar & Thune on the Ocean Shipping Reform Act of 2022

ASTA signed onto a coalition letter from multiple industries to members of the Senate Finance Committee in June 2024, imploring the swift passage of legislation to renew the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) program.

ASTA issued a letter to Anita Thomas, Secretary, Office of Europe and the Mediterranean U.S. Trade Representative, in September 2004. The letter objects to the proposed inclusion of 3 product categories on the list of goods for which tariff concessions may be withdrawn, and duties may be increased in the event the US and EU cannot reach an agreement for adequate compensation owed under WTO rules as a result of EU enlargement and changes to its rice import regime.
