Multi-Industry Letter to EPA on PFAS Reporting and Recordkeeping Requirements

ASTA signed onto a coalition letter from multiple industries to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Environmental Protection Agency, and Department of Agriculture, urging the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Commission to rely on established scientific research and regulatory systems. The alliance emphasizes a shared goal of protecting public health, while highlighting the importance of pesticides and biotechnology in ensuring a safe, affordable food supply. Additionally, the letter notes the effectiveness of established food ingredient safety regulations, such as Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS).

ASTA signed onto comments prepared by the Food & Beverage Issue Alliance on the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) regarding an agency listening session on FDA's use of and process for advisory committees. The comments call for the reinstatement of FDA's Food Advisory Committee, which historically provided insights and guidance on many food-related issues.
