ASTA’s advocacy team and partners provided an insider’s look at the evolving trade and tariff landscape impacting the spice industry. Panelists shared updates on key negotiations and policy developments, highlighted ASTA’s public affairs and coalition-building efforts, and provided insights from outreach with U.S. and international policymakers. This session also featured a moderated Q&A exploring the success of ASTA’s advocacy efforts.

This panel session focused on FDA’s recent guidance and industry engagement on allergens, including the agency’s current thinking on labeling, enforcement, and thresholds, as well as provided insight on how global regulatory bodies are approaching allergen management. Attendees learned more about how the growing regulatory focus on allergens may have an impact on operations and also walked through how allergen risk assessments may be conducted for spices.
