ASTA signed onto the FBIA coalition's comments to the Food and Drug Administration(FDA) in July 2020 regarding the proposed rule for Laboratory Accreditation for Analyses of Foods. The letter supports several aspects but does not support Food Testing Orders (FTOs).

ASTA Feedback to GAO on FDA Implementation of Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)
ASTA was contacted in August 2024 by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), which was seeking to obtain perspectives from various food safety stakeholders on FDA's implementation of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). ASTA Comments on FDA's Proposed High-Risk Designation for Tracing
ASTA issued a comment to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in May 2014 regarding the designation of high-risk foods for tracing in response to the request for information and scientific data on the FDA's draft model for designating high-risk foods for tracing as part of its implementation of Section 204 of the FSMA.
