2024 Regulatory Workshop

The 2024 ASTA Regulatory Workshop was held in Washington, DC, from September 24 to 25, 2024.

This is a past event. Registration is closed.

Held annually in Washington, D.C., ASTA’s Regulatory Workshop is designed to bring together the spice industry with regulatory experts, U.S. government officials, and policymakers to discuss vital topics related to food safety and regulatory compliance for spices. The 2024 Regulatory Workshop’s robust programming featured presentations by subject matter experts, topical panels, facilitated group discussions, and unique networking opportunities to connect with colleagues in the spice trade. Sessions delved into hot topics related to hazard analysis, ethylene oxide, traceability, preventing adulteration in the spice supply chain, and the future of food ingredient safety. Participants heard from government agencies such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection, on policies impacting spices.

Powerpoint slides in pdf format and recordings from presentations provided during the event were circulated to registered attendees following the meeting. Select presentations may be added into the ASTA Resource Library for all ASTA members six to twelve months after the event.
