Facilitate smoother trade operations through ASTA’s contracts

ASTA Contracts

ASTA provides its members with member-developed sample contracts tailored for the buying and selling of spices, ensuring secure and fair trade practices within the industry.

Use

ASTA contracts are available for ASTA members to use in the trading of spices and can minimize misunderstandings and enhance the reliability and efficiency of business interactions within the global spice market.

The use of ASTA contracts not only streamlines the trading process but also reinforces trust and confidence among trading partners, underpinning the association’s commitment to promoting best practices and integrity in the spice trade. All ASTA contracts are subject to the rules and conditions outlined in the contract.

Types of contracts

  • Import CIF C&F FOB Contract - Ensures secure spice transactions by specifying delivery terms, shipping costs, and risk responsibilities between buyer and seller.
  • Future Delivery Contract - Facilitates agreements for the sale and purchase of spices to be delivered at a future date, providing stability and predictability in the market.
  • Spot Contract - Enables immediate purchase and delivery of spices, ideal for quick transactions where immediate exchange is necessary.
  • Import Ex-Dock Contract - Specifies terms for spice deliveries directly from the dock after importation, clarifying logistics and responsibilities for both parties.
